The Great British Spring Clean

A wonderful start on Saturday (14th) with the first litter pick organised by Westhoughton Town Council at Jack’s Lane/Wigan Road as part of the 2026 Great British Spring Clean national campaign. The weather was very kind to us!

A big thank you to everyone who came out to help. Joining Cllrs Alison Jackson, Linda Maher David Wilkinson and Gillian Wroe were local residents Bill, Lynne, John, Yvonne, Chris, Stewart, Gail, Vicky and Sky the dog. 😊

27 bags collected together with a traffic cone, remains of an hoover, a wheel trim, a bag of rock hard cement and a wooden pallet.

5 bags of bottles and cans went into recycling.
