The Mayor goes Bowling!

On Friday morning I was invited, as Mayor of Westhoughton, to visit Central Park Bowling Club who were hosting a session of crown green bowls coaching. The group they were coaching, as part of a course of free lessons, were young adults with additional needs. Coaching this session were Barbara, Jim, Janet and Kenny.

The young adults were accompanied by staff from Bolton Cares, including Trish from Community Life Opportunities and Michele from Enhancing Lives Community Care.

Everyone was so welcoming and helpful. I had a lot of coaching from the group and they all wanted to have their photos taken. I was thrilled to recognise Adele, who I taught as a 3-4 year at Bridgewater Nursery School in Farnworth, and to see how she has developed into a confident and outgoing young woman.
