Mayor attends Senior Solutions AGM
The Mayor of Westhoughton, Councillor Gillian Wroe, writes…
‘On Tuesday I was invited, as Mayor of Westhoughton, to the AGM of Senior Solutions. My Mayoress was there wearing two hats, as my consort but also as a Trustee. When you arrive at Senior Solutions, based in the Winifred Kettle Centre, you get such a warm welcome and a room full of smiley faces that it is a real tonic to visit.
The AGM was chaired by Ronald Bell but I don’t think anyone would argue when I say that the highlight of the meeting was the illustrated report from the Chief Officer, Michelle Todd, who explained what the organisation has done for the senior citizens of Westhoughton particularly over the last year. At times she moved us to tears.
Of course she doesn’t do it alone. Her staff of Kirsty, Lorna and Kath plus the army of volunteers, befrienders and trustees makes this one of the most vibrant organisations you could imagine. It goes from strength to strength each year so I congratulate you all for what you do for our community.
