New Business in Westhoughton

Mayors are often called on to do an official opening of an event or new business or community space so the Mayor and Mayoress of Westhoughton, Cllrs Gillian Wroe and Deirdre McGeown were pleased to attend a special opening in Westhoughton.

Cllr Wroe writes:

‘It was a very special honour to be invited to officially open a new venture in Westhoughton.

R. Hough & Sons is a new funeral service set up by Ryan Hough after working for several years for a funeral director in Horwich.

We know how much work Ryan has put into starting this new business so my Mayoress and I wish him every success for the future.

After cutting the ribbon, with his proud family watching, Ryan showed us round the new tastefully decorated facilities. All the rooms are designed to put bereaved families at ease, with two of the rooms named ‘Pretoria’ and ‘Weaver’ as a nod to the history of our town. ‘
