WOW - Pre Easter Social

The Mayor of Westhoughton, Cllr Gillian Wroe, received an invitation to join the Women of Westhoughton for their pre-Easter social at the John Holt Centre………

‘Thank you to Janice Bayliss and the Women of Westhoughton for your kind invitation and warm welcome.

During the evening we had cake and tea/coffee, played bingo and had a flower arranging demonstration from Joan Bainbridge, the final arrangement being won by Valerie Whotton.

There was much hilarity when we had a different sort of raffle. We all had 3 free tickets. If your ticket came out you could choose a prize or claim one off someone who had a prize already. It carried on like that until all the tickets were drawn, with the prizes being swapped around several times! The women who had prizes in front of them at the end could keep them. It was great fun.

During my time as Mayor I’ve been to a variety of events but I can honestly say I don’t think I’ve laughed as much as I did at WOW.’
