Grease at WHS

Mayor Westhoughton Councillor Sarita Chohan writes:

“What a fantastic evening it was attending Westhoughton High School's annual summer production of Grease!

As many of you know, Grease is one of my all-time favourite films, so I was absolutely delighted to be there and couldn't wait to see our talented young people perform. They certainly did not disappoint!

From the outstanding acting and singing to the energetic dancing, every member of the cast gave an amazing performance. A special well done also goes to everyone working behind the scenes—the stage crew, technicians, musicians and staff—whose hard work helped make the evening such a great success.

My sincere thanks to the Headteacher, teachers, support staff, governors, parents and carers for encouraging and supporting these wonderful young people. Productions like this give students the opportunity to grow in confidence, develop lifelong skills and create lasting memories.

It was a pleasure to attend with my Consort, Rishi, and to celebrate the incredible talent we have here in Westhoughton.

We were also in the company of the Richard Harrison - Mayor of Blackrod 2026-27

Congratulations to everyone involved. You should all be immensely proud of yourselves. Bravo!
