Rock Kidz

During a visit to The Gates Primary School, to read stories to the classes, the Mayor of Westhoughton was invited to join the children in the school hall for special event. Cllr Wroe writes:

‘On one of the days that I visited The Gates there was a duo in school called ‘Rock Kidz’ who were delivering class sessions based on positivity and wellbeing. The children were allowed to dress in their own clothes for this day. The culmination of the day was a concert in the hall to recap on, and celebrate, what they had learned.

I was warned that it would be loud and that was absolutely correct! My ears have just about recovered.

The joy, excitement and sheer exuberance was totally infectious. It was wonderful to see the children letting go and responding to ‘Rock Kidz’.

What a great way to get important messages across, such as ‘Don’t Stop’, ‘Don’t Quit’, you’re awesome, you’re amazing.
