Bolton VJ Service

On VJ Day the Deputy Mayor of Westhoughton, Cllr Sarita Chohan attended the morning service in Victoria Square, Bolton. She writes:

‘Today I had the honour of representing Westhoughton at the VJ Day service in Victoria Square, Bolton, marking the 80th Anniversary of VJ Day.

I attended in my role as Deputy Mayor of Westhoughton Town Council, accompanied by my consort, Rishi Chohan.

It was a privilege to stand alongside others in a short but deeply meaningful service of remembrance, paying tribute to those who served and sacrificed so much.

We will remember them. ’
