Bolton Armed Forces Day

Mayor of Westhoughton Town Council Councillor Sarita Chohan writes:

“It was a true privilege and honour to attend the Armed Forces Day service in Victoria Square on behalf of Westhoughton Town Council, alongside our Deputy Mayor, Cllr Linda Maher, and Councillor Neil Maher.

Armed Forces Day is a special opportunity to recognise and thank the brave men and women who serve, or have served, in our Armed Forces, and to remember the sacrifices made by military personnel and their families.

This occasion holds particular significance for me, as I am a proud member of the Westhoughton Royal British Legion and have also been part of the Armed Forces family, serving as an officer in the Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps.

Today was a poignant reminder of the courage, dedication, and selflessness of those who protect our country. We owe them all a tremendous debt of gratitude.

Lest we forget.”
