Art Exhibition at Blackrod Library

On Thursday evening the Mayor of Westhoughton, Cllr Gillian Wroe, was invited to an Art Exhibition at Blackrod Library. She writes:

‘It was a pleasure to attend the opening night of the Art Exhibition organised by Jean Spencer and Blackrod Art Group at Blackrod Library.

The attendees were asked to view the paintings and vote for their favourite. It was a difficult task as they were all done by very talented local artists. I tried to take photos but the lights were reflected on the glass. The paintings pictured here were without glass.

Local artist Julia Entwistle chose her favourites, the Art group chose theirs and the visitors overwhelmingly voted for the seascape with lighthouse.

Julia and The Mayor of Blackrod, Cllr Kathryn Grant, presented the winners with their prizes.

The exhibition is on until the 15th January 2026.’
