Chorley Christmas Concert
The Mayor of Westhoughton, Cllr Gillian Wroe, had an invitation from the Mayor of Chorley to his Christmas Concert Charity night on the 16th December. She writes:
‘I was delighted to accept an invitation from the Mayor of Chorley to his Christmas Concert in aid of his charity appeal. Cllr Alistair Morwood and his wife Jane are lovely hosts and work hard to support their charities.
My husband Phil accompanied me on this occasion. We both thoroughly enjoyed the excellent performances from ‘The Guild of Singers’, the ‘Red Admiral Music Academy’ and the ‘Secret Location theatre company’ - Izzy and Jemima who brilliantly performed a Christmas ghost story ‘The Leaf Sweeper’.
There was of course the obligatory raffle and on this occasion I won first prize, a huge hamper! This morning I took it apart and put some items aside for my Mayor’s Charity Ball raffle, took some to Westhoughton Assist Service and kept 3 items for myself.
The ‘Magnificence of Mayors’, otherwise known as ‘The Chain Gang’ posed for a photo in front of the band on the stage.
Thank you to the Mayor and Mayoress of Chorley, their staff and the other civic dignitaries for making it such a wonderful evening.’
