Grant Awarded - Westhoughton Lions

At a recent Westhoughton Town Council meeting a grant application for £500 from Westhoughton Lions Club was approved. The money is to be put towards the setting up of a new under 7s team.

The Mayor of Westhoughton, Cllr Gillian Wroe, went along to the club to present the cheque.

‘It was an early start this morning, Saturday 20th December, to go along to the club to present the cheque but I was delighted to do so. Receiving the cheque on behalf of Westhoughton Lions Club was the Club Secretary Helen Mewes.

Westhoughton Town Council has a grant fund to support voluntary groups who do so much for our community. We are especially committed to promote activities which give children and young people the opportunity to develop their skills, personal wellbeing and confidence.
