Mayor of Bolton for 2026-2027

“It was a true honour to attend the inauguration ceremony of the new Mayor of Bolton held at the historic Albert Halls. I attended with my consort Mr Rishi Chohan.

We were delighted to attend the official handover and inauguration ceremony in the Council Chambers, where Councillor Mohammed Iqbal was appointed as the new Mayor of Bolton for 2026–2027. Congratulations to Councillor Mohammed Iqbal on taking on this prestigious role.

Best wishes also to Councillor David Chadwick, who has served with dedication and will now continue his civic duties as Deputy Mayor of Bolton.

It was a privilege to represent Westhoughton at this special occasion and to join fellow civic leaders in celebrating local democracy, community service, and partnership across the borough.
