Remembrance Concert
The Mayor of Westhoughton, Cllr Gillian Wroe, attended the Remembrance Concert on Thursday 6th November. She writes:
‘It was an absolute pleasure to attend the annual Remembrance Concert in the Albert Halls Bolton, with my husband Phil, as guests of the Mayor of Bolton.
The programme was beautifully put together to include a variety of artists ranging from the amusing, to inspiring, to audience participation and finally to the moving and tear jerking.
The participants included Jean Martyn, Jo Lancaster, Paul Cohen Productions, Phoenix Knights of Harmony, The Lancashire Artillery Band, Pipes and Drums of the 103rd Regiment Royal Artillery, the Piper of Bagpipes, the standard bearers of the Bolton area and Rev Hannah Lane, Vicar of Bolton. The whole evening was expertly compèred by Cllr Cannon Dr John Walsh.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable event and I would like to extend my thanks and appreciation to all involved in putting together this wonderful and fitting tribute of remembrance.
