Breakfast Club Celebrates 2 Years

On Saturday 26th July the Deputy Mayor of Westhoughton, Cllr Sarita Chohan attended a veterans event. She writes:

‘I was so honoured to be invited to represent Westhoughton to the Armed Forces Veteran Breakfast Club's second year anniversary. Thankyou to Simon Skirving (chairman) for inviting me and for the continued service you provide with some committed volunteers.

The club is open every Saturday 10am - 2pm and is based at Heywood Young People’s Centre, Great Lever. It is open to veterans and civilians alike.

The Caledonian Pipe and Drum band were present and they were amazing.

I was also honoured to share a table with the Mayor and Mayoress of Bolton, Cllr David and Mrs Val Chadwick and the Deputy Lieutenant of Greater Manchester, Mrs Judith Bromley.

Wishing the AFVBC a Happy 2nd Birthday with many more successful years ahead.
