Blackrod Civic Sunday

Mayor of Westhoughton, Councillor Sarita Chohan writes:

“It was a privilege to attend the Mayor of Blackrod's Civic Ceremony, held in the beautiful St. Katharine's Church, Blackrod

I was delighted to attend alongside my consort and husband, Rishi. The service was both welcoming and inclusive, bringing together members of the community and civic representatives in a wonderful celebration. The morning was followed by a lovely brunch at Luciano's.

A heartfelt thank you to the Richard Harrison - Mayor of Blackrod 2026-27 , Councillor Richard Harrison, Mayoress Sarah Harrison, and the Junior Mayor of the Future, their son Reuben, for allowing us to share in such a special occasion.

It was also a pleasure to be in the company of fellow dignitaries, including the Mayor and Mayoress of Bolton, Cllr Iqbal, the Mayor and Mayoress of Adlington, Cllr Alison Rothwell, and the Deputy Mayor of Horwich, Cllr Rock, and consort.

Wishing Mayor Richard Harrison and Mayoress Sarah Harrison every success for the year ahead as they serve the people of Blackrod. I look forward to seeing all that you achieve during your mayoral year
