Cllr Linda Maher writes "I was very honoured and privileged as Deputy Mayor of Westhoughton to receive the first Poppy of the Westhoughton Poppy Appeal from Marcus Pollard, Chairman of the Westhoughton Branch of the Royal British Legion and Steve Conneely, Poppy Appeal Manager, from the Royal British Legion. As we start to commemorate and remember all those who gave their lives, who served and who are still serving in all the forces. Their legacy lives on. With gratitude and respect help us to remember them."
