Best Bar None Awards 2025

On Thursday 22nd of January the Best Bar None Bolton Awards ceremony was held in the Cloisters at the Holiday Inn. The BBN is a nationwide initiative, supported by the Home Office, accrediting hospitality venues for their commitment to excellence in safety, customer service and responsible alcohol management. The Mayor of Westhoughton was invited to the event:

‘It was a pleasure and an honour to attend the BBN awards alongside representatives from Bolton Council, the Police, Best Bar None and of course the many bars and pubs from across Bolton Borough who were there to collect their accreditation awards.

I was proud and delighted to see four venues from Westhoughton receive awards - The Beer School, Bytes, The Wheatsheaf and The White Horse. Congratulations to all of you.

Then there was a wonderful surprise for two of the venues. Rachel Birch from The Beer School and Matt Gorton from Bytes won the special Community Award for their dedication to our community in Westhoughton. They both worked incredibly hard to make the Christmas Market Event such a great success. We, on the Christmas Market committee, appreciated their commitment, enthusiasm and energy.
